DRUMTudor

Tudor’s first introduction to music, as a child raised in Toronto, was watching the Samba Squad and Latin-Jazz groups play on St. Clair avenue in the summertime. His first steps were Piano Lessons at age 8. 3 years later, his interest in textures and timbres brought him to Drums and Percussion at age 11. From here, he began studying privately with Mark French and cultivated an interest in jazz, classical, rock, pop, latin music and Gamelan. Tudor has been performing professionally since the age of 14 and developed his skills in a variety of musical settings in high school -including the orchestra, concert and stage bands, as well as local rock and indie groups.

He has performed at acclaimed Kiwanis Music Festival, TUJazz Fest, countless venues in and around Ontario/Quebec and has recorded many projects as drummer and composer. With over 10 years of studio/live experience, Tudor possesses first-hand knowledge and expertise which are vital to the demands of a modern musician. After completing the RCM Advanced Rudiments exam and Jazz Performance Certificate with Honours at Humber College, he is now studying to receive his Bachelor of Music.

Tudor is comfortable with a variety of styles of music and has performed in Orchestras, Rock/Fusion Bands, Jazz combos, Hip Hop groups, and Brazilian Parade bands. Keeping an open mind has been an asset in problem-solving and success, and Tudor encourages his students to be curious and think positively about their obstacles.
